Compassion and the love of knitting/crocheting have been combined into a prayerful ministry and spiritual practice which reaches out to those in need of comfort and solace, as well as in celebration and joy. Many blessings are prayed into every stitch. New Heights Mission Partners gather in groups or work independently making Prayer Shawls & Baptismal Shawls.

The Meal Ministry’s focus is to help families by providing meals during demanding times in their lives—the birth of a baby, the loss of a loved one, following a surgery or extended illness. This is a Shared Ministry where Mission Partners care for each other.

Communion Visitation Ministers are part of a service based on an understanding of Holy Communion that sees the Sacrament reaching out to embrace those who are forced to be absent from Worship because of illness or being homebound. It is an extension of our Weekend Communion Meal. This ministry ties together the proclamation of the Word through the Words of Institution and the ministry to the ill and homebound. A clear connection is made between members of the congregation in the sacrament, whether assembled in the worship service or separated from the congregation. Communion Ministers are carefully trained to carry out this important ministry. Communion visitors visit each homebound person monthly.

A meal following a funeral or memorial service is offered to grieving families. This ministry offers the family a chance to grieve and spend time together with family and friends without having to think about food preparation. Volunteers to provide food and/or serve the food are welcome.
